We use an endogenous growth model with AK technology and dynastic families. We show firstly that population aging has no effect on capital accumulation in the case of operative bequest, secondly that the effect on fertility depends on a degree of altruism, and finally that the existence of the pay-as-you-go social security is not always a burden to economic growth.
